ADA Transition Plan
The City of Montpelier Public Works Department solicited proposals from qualified firms to compile and implement a comprehensive Federal ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan for City buildings, parks, parking lots, and programmatic compliance (i.e. websites, Human resources etc.). The Request for Proposals (RFP) sought to secure the most qualified consultant to perform field investigations within the City right of way and of City facilities in order to identify barriers limiting accessibility, describe methods to improve accessibility and specify a schedule for achieving ADA compliance per PROWAG (Public Rights of Way Accessibility Guidelines). The City of Montpelier has chosen to consult with the Institute for Human Centered Design.
