DPW will be replacing the water main on School Street this fall. Construction begins on November 16, 2022.
School Street from Main Street to Saint Paul Street will be closed to automobile traffic from November 16th through December 16th, 2022.
The project will be completed by a private construction contractor, Hebert Excavation. The contractor has requested to close the street to through traffic for approximately 1 month, from November 16th, 2022, through December 16th, 2022. The street will be open to traffic at night. Sidewalks will remain open throughout the duration of the construction.

The proposed road closure will be on the consent agenda for the City Council meeting on November 9th, 2022. Anyone with questions or concerns is advised to contact the Public Works office or to attend the City Council meeting.
The street will remain available for local traffic only, such as access to businesses and homes, but you should expect periodic obstruction with occasional delays. Obstruction of access to and from driveways will be unavoidable but typically of short duration which we will try to limit to a maximum of ten minutes. We will provide advance notice for any prolonged delays.
Residents will be notified with a notice 24 hours prior to any planned water shutdowns.
