About the Project

Beginning on April 17th, crews will be performing sewer and water main improvements on State Street between #89 and #120.

The project is being completed by Hebert Excavation Corporation. Crews will start mobilization for the project the week of April 10th. On the week of April 17th, work will commence with sewer main installation beginning at #120 State and working easterly towards the Taylor Street intersection. The sewer work is anticipated to take approximately 4 weeks to complete.

Once the sewer work has been completed, crews will install a new storm pipe beginning at #109 State Street and working easterly to #89 State Street. This work is tentatively scheduled to start the week of May 15th and is anticipated to take 3 weeks to complete. After the sewer and storm have been completed, crews will replace any disturbed sidewalk, prepare the road for final paving, and restore the project site. The tentative completion date is June 16th. All dates provided are tentative and are subject to change based on weather and work progress.

Traffic Impacts

Throughout the duration of the project, it is anticipated that parking will be limited within the extent of the work zone. Two-way traffic will be maintained as much as possible throughout construction. It is inevitable that crews will have to utilize one-way alternating traffic when two-way traffic cannot be maintained.

The street will remain available for access to your homes/businesses, but you should expect periodic obstruction and delays. Short-term obstruction of access to and from your driveway will be unavoidable. We will provide advance notice for any prolonged delays. You are welcome to contact the Department of Public Works office and an available staff member can provide additional information or will address requests for special accommodations if needed during the project.

We appreciate your cooperation.

Landlords, we depend on you to inform your tenants about this upcoming project.
