Flood Feedback Survey Results

We asked the community to share what communication methods worked well during the flood and ways we can improve. We received 118 responses while the survey was open during the month of August.

Communications After-Action Improvements

The city has implemented several new communications efforts as a direct result of the community input we’ve received throughout the past two months. Here are some of the ways we’re working to improve our communications based on our community’s feedback:

  • Branding VT-Alert Messages: All VT-Alert messages from the city will specifically state “- From the city of Montpelier” in the text and audio message
  • Direct Communication via Email: sign up to receive general informational updates from the city on our website using the “Notify Me” feature on our website
  • Creating more "How-To" Information: We're working on a "Welcome to Montpelier" packet of information about vital city services. The packet will contain how-to information for common activities such as paying taxes, how to contact city departments, and where to find zoning regulations.
Read about the results of the survey and how we're putting these results into action in our most recent editorial in The Bridge.City C

Our Strategic GoalsScreenshot (10)

Communication is a cornerstone of Montpelier's FY22-23 Strategic Plan. To better serve our community, we strive to provide responsible and engaged government by communicating effectively in all things we do. Communicating effectively means much more than pumping out information - it's about building and nurturing a relationship between community members so we all can thrive.

We provide responsible and engaged government by continually working to improve how we share information and create public value.

There are many ways to stay connected with your City.
