Meetings Thursday, May 27, 2004, 7 p.m., City Council Chambers, City Hall
The Montpelier Parking Committee and the Carr Lot Advisory Committee hosted a joint public meeting to present and receive comment on conceptual plans for parking structures in Montpelier. If a Welcome and Transit Center is built on the Carr Lot on Taylor Street, can the displaced parking be located behind the Christ Church and Capitol Plaza on State Street or on the North Branch parking lot behind Brooks and Capitol Video on Main Street? How might a parking structure fit on the Pitkin Lot behind City Hall? What are potential impacts? Conceptual plans will be presented and pros and cons of each scenario will be discussed. This was an opportunity for the community to comment on the proposals and get information on what the City is exploring to address its parking needs. The meeting was televised on Adelphia cable channel 17.
