Community Services Department Volunteer Opportunities

All three divisions (Parks & Trees, Recreation, Senior Activity Center) welcome volunteers for occasional and ongoing needs, to serve on regular and ad-hoc committees, to help plan and support special events, to help with maintenance of indoor and outdoor facilities, and to lead classes and programs that support community wellness. Community members with skills in communications, marketing (print & social media) and fundraising are also invited to inquire! 

Some of the special needs for volunteers of each division each year -- or sometimes seasonally -- include the following, which is not an exhaustive list but will give you some ideas...

• Parks & Trees: Trail maintenance, Parkapalooza help, Enchanted Forest help, FEAST Farm labor, Montpelier Youth Conservation Corps, Park Commission members, Tree Board members.
• Recreation: Youth sports coaches, Advisory Board members.
• Senior Activity Center: Class instructors, Drop-in group facilitators, Presenters, Kitchen help, Meals on Wheels delivery, Social visits, Technology help, Chore assistance, Advisory Council members, Column writing, Mailing preparation, Garden assistance, and much more.
