[ARCHIVED] Montpelier Names Provencher as Finance Director

Montpelier, Vermont – Montpelier City Manager William Fraser announced today that he has appointed Todd R. Provencher of Barre Town to the position of Finance Director for the city effective Tuesday, September 21. Provencher has served as the Acting Finance Director for Montpelier since September 1. He has most recently been the Accounting Manager for the city and previously served as payroll Specialist. He has worked in the Finance and Public Works Departments since 2011.

Provencher is a Certified Public Accountant and has an Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a Minor in Finance. His work history includes various finance, audit and accounting positions as well as owning a family business.

Provencher replaces Sandra Gallup who retired on August 31st after 10 plus years in the Finance Director position. He was selected from a field of 14 applicants. City department heads and Finance Department staff assisted Fraser in the interview and selection process. Provencher’s starting salary will be $74,800 annually.

Fraser said, “I’m very pleased that Todd Provencher is being promoted to Finance Director. Todd has moved his way up through our organization and has done an outstanding job in all of his prior positions. We have full confidence that he will take on this new challenge successfully. His skills, personality and determination make him a valuable addition to our leadership team.”
