Multiple burglaries under investigation
On Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at approximately 12:06 AM the Montpelier Police Department responded to an attempted ATM theft of the Granite Hills Credit Union ATM located at 1National Life Drive. The burglary attempt was unsuccessful.
While investigating the attempted theft, Montpelier Police received a burglary alarm activation at the Vermont Tire Warehouse, located on Pioneer Street. This activation came at approximately 12:26 AM and was later found to be a second reported burglary.
A third attempted burglary was reported at 1:14 AM at the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles building located at 120 State Street. This burglary was again unsuccessful as the suspect (s) attempted to take another ATM from the building. ·
At approximately 2:50AM, the Montpelier Police Department received a fourth burglary reported at the VFW on Pioneer Street.
At approximately 8:34 AM the Montpelier Police Department received a fifth reported burglary, this time at the Formula Ford car dealership. This was a late reported burglary that had occurred earlier in the evening.
