HEAT WAVE: COOLING SPACE AVAILABLE IN DOWNTOWN MONTPELIER
MONTPELIER – Please be aware that two City spaces have been identified as cooling shelters in downtown Montpelier this week for people seeking relief during these extreme temperatures.
•Memorial Room at City Hall, 39 Main Street, first floor: 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
•Montpelier Senior Center, 58 Barre Street: 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
People are also reminded that the Capitol Region Visitors Center at 134 State Street (6 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday), and the Vermont State House (7:45 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. Monday-Friday) are also open to the public.
