The 2nd Public Safety Communications/Dispatching Listening Session has been scheduled!

Thursday July 19th beginning at 6:30 p.m. Montpelier City Council Chambers, Montpelier, VT

The Central Vermont Public Safety Authority (CVPSA) Board of Directors want you to come to a community listening session about consolidating the dispatching services currently being provided by the Montpelier and the Barre City Police Department. The first communications/dispatching community listening session will be held at Alumni Hall in Barre City on Thursday July 12, 2018 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The second session will be held at the Montpelier City Council Chambers in Montpelier on July 19, 2018 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The CVPSA Board of Directors are conducting outreach to understand the community’s feelings and concerns about combining dispatching services. The current plan is to remove the dispatching staff from the police departments and move them into one center. Combining of staff will result in dispatching efficiencies it will also require alternatives to be developed in keeping open the police departments. How does the community feel about not have staff in the police departments available for walk in traffic on a 24-hour basis? Your comments will help us formulae a plan to address this and other issues. We look forward to seeing you then, and if you have any questions, please call Francis (Paco) Aumand, CVPSA Executive Director, at 747-8611.
