The Montpelier City Council is seeking two “community members” who is interested in serving on the Montpelier Bicycle Advisory Committee. This committee meets every second Tuesday of the month at 6 PM in the Police Station Community Room. Its charge is to gather information and opinions about bicycle-related issues from people who live, work or bike in the city, and from model programs in other cities; to recommend policies and actions by the city that will promote bicycling for all purposes and that will provide safe and convenient access to all parts of the community via bicycle; and to advise the city in its pursuit of a Bicycle Friendly Community designation. Letters of interest should be submitted to the Office of the City Manager, City Hall - 39 Main Street, Montpelier, Vermont 05602 (or by e-mailing spitonyak@montpelier-vt.org) on or by Wednesday, January 6th, 2016. The City Council will make these appointments at their January 13th, 2016 meeting. Applicants are encouraged to attend. All municipal meetings are accessible to people with disabilities and are held in accordance with the public meeting and public records laws.
