School Bus Crash
On Monday, October 15, 2018 at approximately 07:40 AM the Montpelier Police Department responded to a two (2) vehicle crash, involving a school bus, on State Street in the City of Montpelier, VT.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the school bus was traveling south on Elm Street attempting a right tum onto State Street when it collided with a truck and trailer traveling west on State Street.
The school bus had one (1) juvenile passenger who was transported to the Central Vermont Medical Center by Montpelier Ambulance Service as a precaution. The driver of the school bus was reportedly not injured. There were no other passengers on the school bus at the time of the crash.
The operator of the truck and trailer was not injured and was able to drive their vehicle from the scene.
The school bus sustained major front end damage and was towed from the scene by Laroche Towing and Recovery.
State Street from Taylor Street to Main Street was closed from 7:40 AM - 8:45 AM to safely remove the bus from the area. The Montpelier Police Department received assistance with traffic control from the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
