Two Arrested in Recent Spree of Car Break-ins
In the early morning hours of Monday, June 3, 2019, the Montpelier Police Department responded to a report of a person seen entering several vehicles in the area of 191 Barre Street. MPD officers located Brandon Meacham (age 25) of Barre, in the area who admitted to the thefts from the vehicles that night. Since May 30, 2019 MPD had received several reports over several days of unsecured vehicles entered and items of value taken.
A subsequent investigation revealed Meacham and Joseph Braley (age 29), also of Barre, had been entering and stealing from unsecured vehicles in several areas of Montpelier over the course of the week. Meacham and Braley were in possession of various items reported stolen and admitted to the thefts around the Capital City.
Meacham and Braley were cited into Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division, for July 25, 2019 at 0830 hours to be arraigned on several counts of Larceny from a Motor Vehicle.
