[ARCHIVED] Planning Commission Seeking New Member

The Montpelier Planning Commission is seeking a new member.

About the Commission: The Planning Commission consists of 7 members appointed by the City Council for 2 year terms. Commissioners perform planning functions and duties as required by the City charter, City Zoning and Subdivision Regulations, State law (24 VSA § 4325), and the City Council.

High priorities in the coming year(s) include, but are not limited to:

  • A significant rewrite of the City Master Plan-now to be called the Montpelier City Plan. This plan will be more strategic in its implementation strategy and will be developed in coordination with many of Montpelier’s other commissions and committees.
  • A review of the design review regulations and boundary.
  • A review of the sign regulations.
  • The development of a Downtown Master Plan to identify opportunities to reconstruct our downtown to make it more walkable, bikeable and attractive.

If you are interested in serving on the commission than you can fill out an application at: https://www.montpelier-vt.org/CommitteeApplication
