DUI Task Force conducts saturation patrol
On February 7, 2016 local law enforcement officers conducted a DUI Task Force saturation patrol in the central Vermont area. Participating agencies included Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Berlin Police Department and the Montpelier Police Department. Officers and Deputies conducted 65 traffic stops for various traffic related offenses and contacted 99 individuals.
The saturation patrols took place in Barre, Berlin, Montpelier, Barre Town, Northfield and Waterbury. As a result of the saturation patrol, fourteen Vermont Civil Violation Complaints were issued and two arrests were made. The arrests included 1 arrest for DUI and 1 arrest for Excessive Speeding / Negligent Operation. The following individuals were arrested and cited into Vermont Superior Court.
Greg Kelley, (18) of Barre, Vermont was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court (Washington Criminal Division) to answer to the charge of Excessive Speeding.
Elizabeth Oatley, (20) of Montpelier, Vermont was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court (Washington Criminal Division) to answer to the charges of DUI.
